Report Impaired Drivers Campaign

October 24, 2011

Report Impaired Drivers is a public educational initiative being piloted in Deer Park, Texas in an effort to reduce driving while intoxicated (DWI)-related crashes in Harris County. The three-year initiative is being developed by the Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), in partnership with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and with the support of the City of Deer Park.

The goal of this project is to improve DWI arrest and disposition data by arresting agencies, prosecuting agencies, and court clerks by raising awareness of the importance of reporting information to DPS for inclusion into the CCH database.

By improving reporting efforts, decisions can be made by each law enforcement agency, prosecuting agency, and court clerk on behalf of the State in an attempt to reduce the number of DWIs on Texas roadways.
